After finishing this project, all I could think was...

"I NOW HAVE MORE RESPECT FOR THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE OUR PRODUCTS."

Yes, it was that intense that typing it in lowercase letters undermined the magnanimity of the feeling. In fact, it didn't take me long to realize it because after the first hour of cutting, pinning, and sewing, my shoulder muscle started to hurt- an indication of stress. But, after hours of labor, the pain was worth it.

Unlike the mock-up which took me only 30 minutes to make, finishing the actual bucket bag took me four hours! Of course, I was more cautious since a mistake would cost on my time and the quality of the materials. Moreover, creating it took a lot of perusing since I was in the 'constraint' to use any form of stripes in my bag. Hence, I figured the stripes would be best put on the straps of the bag. It was a spontaneous choice, and I'm very happy with the result because it pleasantly balanced of colors on the bag.

What made it more exciting was the autonomy I had in working with fabrics I chose! Advocating sustainable fashion, I definitely choose remnant fabrics (it's a bonus that remnants are always on sale). I'm particularly proud of the aspen-cobalt blue fabric because of it's gorgeous shade and smooth texture (it's like suede). It had all the elements I was looking for!

Inevitably, the production costs changed since there were a lot of additions and adjustments made in the production process. So, after calculating it, I came up with:

Now, this sustainable bucket bag brings the Heavenly Calm to life!
