Thank God for artists, because artists demonstrate an elusive courage through their pursuit of art. Thank God for art, because art captures the untouchable emotion of moments. Thank God for moments, because it is in moments that you learn something more about yourself.

It was a Sunday well spent in the Cultural Center of the Philippines for the Pasinaya 2017: Open House Festival. The two-day festival featured the wealth of Philippine culture through workshops, exhibits, and performances in the field of the arts. It was more than worth it for me to see countless folk dances, and hear young, phenomenal folk musicians all for the minimum price of Php50. But for me, the highlight of it all was seeing excerpts of the season's ballet performances like the classic Swan Lake (and yes, it's still included in the 50). It was fitting to have it on a rest day because its refreshing to witness the huge amount of talent from people who are patriotic and are dedicated to preserving the craft and culture of the Philippines.

As we attended mass later that day, I thanked God for the artists, the people courageous enough to capture the emotion of moments that move people.
